Community Guidelines
Last updated: February 14, 2025
1. Purpose & Principles
Study Share LLC operates a collaborative learning community. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect everyone to behave so that students can focus on learning and voice features can remain available to all.
By using Study Share you agree to follow these rules, our Honor Code, and the Terms of Service.
2. Academic Integrity
- Share original study aids, not active exam questions or answer keys.
- Do not request or provide solutions that another student could submit as their own.
- Respect the policies of your school, district, and test administrator.
- Flag suspected violations so our team can investigate quickly.
3. Respect & Safety
- No harassment, hate speech, bullying, or threats on Study Share.
- Do not use Study Share AI or voice mode to spread misinformation, target an individual, or impersonate others.
- Keep personal information private and do not post another person’s data without consent.
- Use inclusive language and remember that filler-free voice transcripts are still linked to your account metadata.
4. Voice Mode & AI Etiquette
Voice mode is designed for accessible study sessions. To keep it available to everyone:
- Speech is converted to text by our AI service provider and stored only as chat summary turns. Audio is not saved or replayed by default.
- Chat summaries are timestamped, English-only, and automatically strip filler words so moderators can review context quickly.
- Never use voice mode to harass, share copyrighted exam content, or automate spam.
- Disable microphone access or clear the chat summary if you are studying in a sensitive environment.
5. Intellectual Property & AI Usage
- Respect intellectual property rights when using AI features to process images or generate content.
- Credit your sources where possible and avoid significant verbatim copy/paste.
- Follow our DMCA policy when requesting takedowns.
- Do not use AI to remove watermarks, metadata, or rights-management notices from copyrighted materials.
6. Quality Expectations
- When using AI features, provide clear context and accurate information.
- Use our AI image processing features responsibly and ensure images are clear and relevant.
- Flag outdated or inaccurate content so moderators can address it.
- Help maintain quality by reporting issues through appropriate channels.
7. Anti-Abuse & Security
Study Share LLC employs automated signals and human review to detect abuse while minimizing data collection. You agree not to:
- Use bots or scripts to scrape, test, or interfere with the platform.
- Create multiple accounts to bypass limits or penalties.
- Exploit security vulnerabilities or share exploit proof-of-concepts publicly.
- Misrepresent yourself during moderation reviews or attempt to intimidate volunteers or staff.
We retain moderation logs for up to 24 months and may share relevant data with schools or authorities when required. Our database/authentication, hosting, AI inference, and analytics service providers assist with this monitoring under strict contractual safeguards.
8. Reporting & Consequences
- Use the in-product flag button or email team@studyshare.app to report issues. Provide URLs, screenshots, and timestamps from the chat summary when relevant.
- Study Share may issue warnings, temporarily restrict accounts, remove content, or impose permanent bans depending on severity and prior history.
- Serious threats or illegal activity will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities.
- You may appeal enforcement decisions by replying to the original notice with additional context.
9. Updates & Contact
Study Share LLC may update these Community Guidelines as voice features evolve or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and notify users of material changes.
